We have great relationships with most of our residents, suppliers, contractors and partners and we really value these. We also recognise that everyone can sometimes get angry or be less polite than normal if they are angry or scared or frustrated. This policy is not aimed at those moments – but protects our employees from behaviour that we consider to be unacceptable. This is when it is rude, derogatory, intimidating, abusive or unkind, where employees are regularly subject to such behaviour or where unreasonable demands are placed on our staff, potentially to the detriment of other residents or services.
The policy lets us restrict the way in which we serve or deal with people when this happens – and also requires us to review the arrangements from time to time so that things can improve.
